Conferences: The best times for appointments are during our conference period from 11:10-11:55 and before or after school. Please send an e-mail or a written note to schedule a conference.

E-mail, Notes, Voice Mail: E-mail or notes sent from home are the best way to reach us. We check e-mail throughout the day, and will answer you as soon as possible. Due to the busy day, we will seldom get an opportunity to check voicemail.

Notes From Home: Please label and date all notes.  Please remind your child before school that they have a note in their backpack.

Daily Folder: Students bring home a Daily Take-Home Folder every day.  It’s a very important communication tool between school and home.

Transportation: It is very important that we know how your child will be going home every day.  We would prefer a written note if there is a change. If there is a last minute change of plans, please e-mail or send a note BEFORE noon. If changes occur after noon, please call the office at 732-9160 with information. Without a written note, a last minute phone call from the office, or a parent present, your child will be sent home as regularly planned.

Trailblazers: Trailblazers are tickets that students earn for “good” acts, such as helping others.  Trailblazers are a school-wide incentive program to encourage positive actions. At Sprit Assemblies, Trailblazers are drawn for each grade level; students selected choose a privilege from a list.  The more Trailblazers in the container, the better the chance of getting selected!

Food & Drinks: We have a short snack time each morning.  Please send a healthy, “easy-to-eat” snack every day. Your child may want to have a small water bottle at school to be refilled during the day. Clearly label the water bottle with your child’s name.

Homework: Students should read approximately 10 minutes per night. Everyday Math Homelinks will be assigned as well. Unless otherwise noted, homework should be returned to school the following day.

Supplies: The school office has a list of supplies for each grade level.  At the beginning of the year, parents have the option of buying a school supply package directly from the Forest Trail Booster Club.  What a great way of purchasing supplies – no long lines! Also, since everything is standard, all students have the same materials and Forest Trail makes a little profit for school priorities!

Birthdays: This year we cannot have edible birthday treats.  You may bring small, inexpensive party favors to distribute to the class, if you wish.

Birthday Parties: Please do not distribute party invitations at school unless our entire class is invited to your child’s party. Thank you!
